Sometimes this blog is super serious. Sometimes it's not. Often, the blog is a place for me to test out my ideas, using writing as a way to work through a tough concept, etc. Sometimes people find things to be offended by. That's obviously not the goal, especially when I'm simply trying to hash through something.
You could argue that I should not do such experimenting in a public space but I feel that if I do not, I am not being faithful to the blogging process or writing process. And it IS a process, one that I believe should be visible.
